Log-C is a beautiful format because it hands you decisions instead of hiding them. But that also means an unassisted edit will look like a green cadaver until you commit to a grade.
The workflow we teach editors is deliberately simple. First, apply a good conversion LUT — not a look, just the technical transform. Second, balance exposure and white point on the primary. Third, apply a printed look on top. That last layer is where personality lives.
